NNMHSS was founded on the visionary leadership of KV Sankaranarayanan and since its inception, has been a source of academic excellence and holistic growth.
On 13th May 1976, Sri K. Karunakaran, the then Home Minister, opened the school, with which a great educational journey started.In 1976, the school started with Class 8th, and over the years, it slowly added Classes 9th and 10th. In March 1977, after this successful graduation of our first SSLC-based batch, we were established, and the next several decades of academic successes were predetermined.
As we believe in the development of young minds, we concentrate on building an environment that is full of academic rigorousness and co-curricular activities as well as education based on values. Our institution has, over the years, expanded to be a place where students are motivated to explore, innovate, and perform excellently in any sphere of life.
In 1991, after the Government of Kerala ruled to implement a higher secondary system in place of pre-degree courses in colleges, NNMHSS was upgraded to a higher secondary school. The school is boasting to be one of the first 19 schools in Kerala to provide higher secondary education.
In NNMHSS, education is much more than books. We believe in the overall development of each and every student—their academic, moral, social, and emotional development.
In NNMHSS, academics are not the only area about which holistic education is considered important, as are arts, culture, and creativity. The school has performed well in Sub-District and District Youth Festivals, and has been a multi-time winner and has gained highly prestigious awards at the State Youth Festivals. NNMHSS boasts its own school musical band and the exceptional success of having released five musical albums, each made up of ten original songs. All the albums have been sung by the renowned playback singer and alumna, Smt. Sithara Krishakumar. Genuineness is yet another attribute of the school that is exemplified through its annual school magazine.
